Hello from the Crossroads of America keats

If you haven't done it yet and your drone weighs over 250 grams, you should register the aircraft with the FAA.

FAADroneZone

You should also take the TRUST test and keep a copy with you when you fly.

FAA TRUST Online Portal for Recreational Drone Operators - Pilot Institute

Good luck and welcome to the Forum.
I recently bought the mavic mini 2, which I think is under 250g. This means I don't have to register with FAA correct?

Correct.

If the take off weight remains less than 249, you're good to go.

However, if you add accessories like a skin, wet suit, strobes, prop guards, etc. that will push it past the 249 gram take off weight, then you'll have to register with the FAA.

It's only five bucks and you'll be covered just in case you to add something later.
