Welcome to the forum. Based on your handle it looks like you will have no problem flying in bad weather. BTW, what is the weather like there at this time of year.

Not sure where you are friend but Iowa and Drones do not like each other much in Winter. I live about 50 miles from NW Nebraska and pretty much it will come and hammer us during this time of year. Spring, Summer and Fall can be pretty incredible. Most people when they think of Iowa think “oh nothing but pigs and corn” true to a certain extent but this place is so much more. We moved here from Chicago 4 years ago and I started flying almost 2 years ago and this place will take your breath away. This is the land of 10,000 lakes. Eagles and Tigerhawks everywhere. Deer a hazard of life. We purchased our 5th Trailer(also a requirement with 4x4 truck) last year and what I have seen here just floored me. It’s a great place, you’ll not find better people almost anywhere. The days durning the Summer last til almost 10pm, yeah I like it.

Just one smaller, minor, insignificant problem. THE WIND! OMG, it can be crazy. In town nice breeze, drive out to fly and sorry no. 40 to 50 mph winds howling off the Plains. It can be kinda crazy so you have to use good judgment, which we all have anyway right?????? Not always that way but you need to be prepared. Never know about the Eagles, they do watch. All in all the good outweighs the bad so very very much. It’s a little slice of heaven in the middle of the country. We have absolutely grown to love and call home. Happy New Year to All.

Thanks for the nice response. I am in California and hour east of Sacramento. I actually have family that lives in Red Oak, IA. The place sounds great. Glad you like it.
