Welcome to our forum, Adam Crow, from Hauptmann in Texas, USA.

You'll find that the Mini almost flies itself. This can lead to overconfidence. Try to be conservative at first, and expand your horizons gradually. The Mini, at only 249 grams, doesn't handle wind as well as the heavier drones do. On windy days it's best to fly the Mini so that you have a tail wind on the way back. Read your manual (link below), and practice using "Find My Drone". Chances are you'll crash and perhaps lose your drone. Don't wait 'til that happens to try to learn under stress in less than ideal conditions.

We have over 100,000 members from around the world--including many in Melbourne--who will help you learn your new hobby! Ask for help when you need it. Share your work when you can!

Got my Mavic Mini drone early July. Love it!
I have been testing it out. Made quite a few flights before stage 4 lockdown commenced. So I've been flying it up and down my driveway.
G,day, this is a great forum, so much information that is given happily for all to learn. I have had the Mini since mid March, first drone, for it's size and weight I find it amazing, now I am very eager to get the new Air 2.
Best of luck flying and hope the virus flocks off and we can all get out and fly.

Welcome to the forum from the deserts of Arizona! Enjoy.
Hi Thomas

I live in Ahwatukee, AZ and until about a week ago I flew the mavic pro, for 3 years. About a year ago I started getting some battery swelling. Of course I read in the forums about the problems that can cause. But stupidly, I kept flying. Last weekend I believe the swelling popped out the battery over the switch-backs at the top of Oak Creek Canyon. Never could find it.

So to get to my point.... I now have the Mavic 2 pro and am reluctant to fly it in these 110 degree days we have been having. I worry about shortening the life of the batteries and worse, crashing the drone. I have about 7 flights on it now. I used to fly my old Mavic 4-5 times a week off the deck at home. Now I'm reluctant to fly very much.

Any advise? Have you experienced the dreaded battery buldge. Some in the forums are seeing buldging in less that 75 flights. Should I limit my summer flying in this heat?
And are any of the straps or clips worth while to secure the battery? Sounds like the battery connection easily becomes dislodged and looses power, even with a strapped in battery.

Thanks for your input

This was a great idea.
I set up windows 10 on my macbook under vmware. I attached my mavic mini controller to the macbook and it all works!

Some tricks involved in getting it to run (installing other helper programs).
