Just wanted to stop by and say hi to all.

Within the next week I'll be the proud owner of my first drone.

A Mavic Pro 2 with Fly more pack from B & H Photo

I'm looking forward to talking to you all and possibly meeting up with a few in the NY/NJ/PA area.

I definitely hope to find a few Droning Buddies.

I'm a little scared and nervous at the same time. I've been taking photos for decades. This is my first time taking flight.

Just wanted to let you know there's an NJ area drone users' group online - NJ Drone User Group (Clifton, NJ)

Great resources there for you - hope you can join and meet up! You'll love this hobby; plenty of beautiful places to fly here in NJ as well (as long as you can avoid the no-fly zones!)

Here are some tips to help you get started:

• Download and read the full Mavic manual before attempting to fly. Since it doesn't come in the box, you'll need to download it from the Mavic downloads page.
  
  
• Check out this guide for additional tips that the manual does not cover:
  Prevent a Crash or Flyaway with Your DJI Drone (The Complete Guide)
  
  
• Before flying, you'll need to register with the FAA here and mark the exterior of your drone with your FAA registration number. I make these vinyl weatherproof FAA registration decals.
  
  
• Practice flying outdoors in a wide open location that's free of all obstacles. Don't attempt to fly inside your house or in other confined locations.
  
  
• Check out MavicHelp.com for more tips.
