This is a complete re edit of footage in collaboration with Upper Thames Rowing club adding more rowing clips while trimming off other areas of my Henley on Thames video
Hope you enjoy this new version

Beautiful place to crew boats. I like how you followed the 4-woman boat @ 3:15. Shows the teamwork need to make it work well and these ladies made it look graceful. Nicely done!

Just down fromUpper Thames there is an all ladies rowing club . Really surprised the amount of enthusiasm for competitive Rowing amongst women today !
Makes a lot of difference with involved people NOT staring at the drone 😎 As instructed

I think you might still be able to cut this in half, as a re-reedit. Several similar scenes that could be eliminated and many scenes could be trimmed, shorter clips or just cutting up some of the longer rowing scenes, could make this a punchier video. Nice colours and clear filming. Maybe a shot almost straight down on the rowers would be a nice addition., either following or as they sail by, other both.

I was thinking of making a cut down version

Be critical of your own scenes. Put all the ones that are similar or close to it, into their individual files such as water, buildings, rowers, boats, reveal clips etc. Then run through them one final time, after viewing them all, several times over. This time, ask yourself, which ones could I live without. Then go back through and take out the ones you could live without, if you had to.

Then go back through and watch the start and end of each clip in every file and see just how much you could trim at the start or end of the clip but still tell the story, with the end clip. Once you have done that with each different file, you can then go back and choose the ones you could not live without.

Try to edit the film with these clips and then go back through what you have left over in each file, to see if adding in those left over clips, would help tell the story better, or if it could stand on its own as it now is. You now have your new video.

Beautiful. Like the music and the video was nice and smooth. Thanks for posting. And I agree with some of the posts above, but I'd be proud to post it as is.

This was done freely fot thr rowing club showing various vertical blade, straight back training techniques ! Hence they will want longer clips
But yes I agree with your comments and will produce a cut down version 😎

The longer rowing clips will be fine, as the club would like, since its the main feature of the video. Look forward to seeing re-edited version.

The local Henley Council wish to do a special feature of the video on their website for June / July promotion
I may therefore give them a choice of the full version or a shaved down version

They are more likely to have those who click on it, actually watch all the way through, if it is shorter. I look forward to seeing the new cut version. Thanks for update.

Awesome video!

Better however, a few suggestions for this version. Don't use that repeat clip at the end which is the same as your opened, of swooping down onto the river. Just delete that last clip of it, you are repeating and you don't want that.

Always try not to use a quick left movement followed by a quick right movement. About 1/4 of the way through you have a left flight movement of the building immediately followed by a right flight movement and then right after that is a more stable shot.

I'd suggest sticking that more stable shot between the two left and right flying shots because it is too jarring to the viewer when you do that quick left, quick right movement. so, break up that left and right movement, with some other shot.

There is a shot as you are flying toward the trees then you suddenly start to climb up above the trees. Trim off that first second or two where you are flying toward the trees level. Just cut it to start where you begin to ascend above the trees and rotate the camera downwards.

One last thing, maybe try putting titles on lower thirds off to left or right, rather than bang in the middle at the top. Hope that helps and that you understand what I mean here.
