Just got my Mavic Mini for my bday last weekend and wanted to find a forum to join ASAP. Been flying cheap quads for past few years but this is my first try at a gps, altitude hold, quality camera quad copter. Hoping to learn as much as I can and maybe even share somethings I learn along the way!

Yes sir... well not in Asheville but it's def close. I'm in Haywood County which in on the western edge of Buncombe County (where Asheville is).

My yearly trek up Mt Mitchel on bike is coming soon. Its the only way to get some hills in as Eastern NC is mostly sea level. Any good areas for drones?

Well there are some AMAZING areas but the NPS land excludes a lot of where we would like to fly. Since the BRP runs along the top of the most spectacular peaks it's very difficult to find places to launch/land that won't get your equipment confiscated and/or fined.

The only time I fly in the BOONE area is for-hire so it's construction sites etc or I'm teaching Emergency Services and nothing "Fun/Pretty". All of my "Fun" flying is usually West of Asheville and into Tenn.
