Because I do a lot of conservation mapping work with my Mavic Pro, I need to be in compliance with all FAA regs each time I launch. Can anyone provide photos of what the Holy Stone RID looks like attached to their Mavic Pro?

Used Holy Stone RID's are showing up on eBay these days for under $70.

Thanks in advance....

I did some searching to make sure it didn't interfere with anything and came up with this.
Have flown several times and it works fine.

Just make sure you throw away the Velcro that came with the RID and get some very good Velcro or you will loose the RID

Here is my Holy Stone RID on my M1P. I agree with Greg S regarding the velcro. I used a 3M locking tape shown in the photos. It is 1/2-inch wide so I have 2 strips next to each other.HS RID.jpgtape 1.jpgtape 2.jpgtape 3.jpg

Thanks, Howard. I'll look for that 3M Dual Lock. The key is not only the hook-to-loop strength but also the adhesiveness of the glue holding the strips to the drone, right?
So what's your take on the adhesive?

To me it wouldn't matter. Overseas seller is too new with too little feedback and enough recent negative feedback which appears to be valid that it isn't worth it to save a few dollars especially on a product that needs to *function* properly unlike a camera stand or a bag of zip ties or a set of book ends.

This price is right around the regular *low* price anyway, with a little extra work, you can probably get them in the US for close enough. The $90 high price is regular retail price and a bit overblown for modules that were often given away for free by HS. I would imagine if you could wait awhile longer, RID prices will bottom out since at this point, everyone who wants one who needed one should have one by now and if you don't, likely you have no plans to come in compliance.

Pretty telling about the market for external RID modules
That's also from China.

It's like buying something from Amazon in the US or the exact same items from Temu in China for much less.

Agree use the plastic locking type velcro. NOT THE STUFF THAT COMES WITH THE MODULE. My module is mounted on top (over the camera) I use the same module on several of my drones. Works great. Ya all take care 🙂.
