New to the hobby as a MM owner, very relieved to see many helpful topics and friendly, knowledgeable comments in this forum. I’ve reviewed forums at Mavichelp.com and on the DJI site, and this one is by far the best I’ve come across. I have much to learn in terms of basic flight, and much ground to cover while preparing to fly in the San Juan National Forest during a vacation trip to CO in June of 2021. Thank you in advance for responses to the questions that will undoubtedly come!

Welcome to Mavic Pilots! :) Enjoy the forum!Thumbswayup

Hello from the Hoosier Heartland MM249.

I have much to learn in terms of basic flight, and much ground to cover while preparing to fly in the San Juan National Forest during a vacation trip to CO in June of 2021.

Here's a quick reference to drone flights in the area.

Looks like your good to go as long as you follow the guidelines.

Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome to the forums - a lot of good info here. So, take a look around and hope you enjoy some of the fine photography and information posted by the members.

Also, if you haven't done so yet, consider getting the AirMap and KittyHawk apps. I also suggest this Visualize it: See FAA UAS Data on a Map

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am in Richardson so we are neighbors. If you need any help feel free to send me a message. Several of us get together and fly from time to time and you are welcome to join us.

Welcome to the forum from the beautiful woods of Maine!
As Cyborg says, practice in wide open areas like baseball/football field.
Get familiar with the return to home function (RTH) and also “find my drone” before you have to use them. Fly safe and stay safe!

Great info...thank you sir.
