There are many cities (they are called local councils here) that ban drone flight around the country.

Even when they ban drones they may be acting illegally. My local council (Mandurah WA) was going to ban drones until they had legal advise that they did not have the power to do so. Presume the same applies to all other local authorities in WA. Our National parks used to ban drones but changed a couple of years back to allow them provided you comply with CASA and don't disturb wild life.
