Here's an anecdote that might help you. I once lost a boomerang (a very expensive handmade one) high up in a tree. I found shaking the tree to be useless - the thing is, your shaking is gradually diluted as the force dissipates along the branches. I realised that only shaking the branch at a point close to the boomerang would have any hope of dislodging it. So I got a large stone, tied some string around it and aimed as close to the boomerang as possible. After a few tries I got the string to wrap around a spot on the branch near to it, and a few shakes got it to dislodge and fall.

I hope this helps.

Best advice in post #2 above.

Or a cooler full of beverages and a couple of friends with one of these could be for a fun afternoon.

.

Don't risk climbing, I've done that in the past and it's definitely not worth the risk.
#2 gets my vote as well.

Find a friend with a larger drone if possible and put a light string on it with a hook try to snag it but be carefull not to trap the new drone . I would check the string and see if the new drone could break the string if it got caught just an idea of course it has to be a long string and a quite day

You could rent a manlift, but they aren't cheap and you'd need a tall one. Although even a 50 ft one would probably get you close enough to be able to knock it down or lasso it in some manner. However, rental cost would probably be about $250 for 4hrs.

You could try a large party Ballon or small weather balloon if reachable that way. Or a marine or electrical supply house for a line throwing pistol to get a line over the branch or the drone to shake it loose.

Might be a dumb idea, depending on the location in your backyard in relation to a driveway, how about the fire department and their ladder truck?

Fire department is useless. I had called them for an actual kitten stuck in a tree 70' up in 28° weather. They just laughed, "that only happens on tv." They said, "ever seen any cat skeletons in a tree?" Funny part is I was a commissioner, so that doesn't help as well. I ended up using the; toss a weight with a string over a branch. I then pulled my climbing rope (11mm) up with the string. Then used my ascenders to get up, put the kitten in a pillowcase and then use the ascenders in decent mode. I made it down before my hands turned to claws from the cold. Still have the now cat.

I really wouldn't recommend that to anybody without training. I was in Search and Rescue and learned all the, now looking back, really dumb ways to get up and down things. Surprised I am not dead. Still want a grapple gun though.

Another drone with one of the airdrop kits and a treble hook on a substantial string. Too bad, I just sold my airdrop or I would have loaned it to you.

Fortunately for your four legged kid, you had the climbing experience and the guts to tackle it. Major kudo’s to you!!

Why did you buy and sell your airdrop system?

I didn't actually buy the airdrop, it came with a used Mavic 3 I bought. I kept it up until I finally sold my last of the 3's the other day, my Cine. Moving onto bigger drones for my work. Still keep a Mini 4 Pro. So small I can pack it around with my other gear.

On a silly note, I have used the Mini 4 Pro twice today. 1st to inspect a now abandon housing project. Money is tight, things are not being finished, contractors are walking away. Then this afternoon a stupid wood pecker, actually its close even stupider cousin, a Thrush. Has amazingly quickly pecked a hole in the side of my house about 3 stories up. It has been plucking out all the insulation, which is all over the my yard now and taunting me and the previously mentioned cat. The Min 4 Pro will be pressed into "Raptor" service to harass the single minded idiot bird. Hopefully the egg laden idiot will peck another hole in an actual tree to pop out its eggs.

Get a Tree pro to do it.
A JLG lift might be cheaper but I don't think so.
Maybe the Local Falconry Club?

Mini 4 Pro are just a lot of fun and after you mount that mini gun on there, very functional.😝 Figures the birds would pick the 3rd floor, what did you do to piss them off.

“Abandon housing project”, are you talking low income and federal money or customs? Of course, now the leins are going to roll in. You’ve got my curiosity up, are you inspecting percentage building completions for the banks?

How about a JR crossbow with a line attached? Be respectful of the neighbors but could that work? But then there're the worry over a 75 ft drop too.
