hi everyone, sorry if this is a rehashed question. I tried to do a search and didn't find anything.

I thought the Mavic camera was supposed to take still images at 12mp. I have taken them in RAW, JPG and RAW AND JPG. When I view them in DJIgo4 app it says they are only 3.6mp. What gives? Even when it says "download original" it still says it is only 3.6mp.

Thanks,
Frankiez

The mavic shoots 12 MP files - at 4x3 the image size is 3992 x 2992 pixels in size, multiply those together and you get 11.9 megapixels. The 5 and 17 numbers you're seeing are megabytes, not megapixels - they are the result of different ways the image is encoded.

Are you by any chance confusing image size (pixels) with file size (bytes)? The images, both RAW and jpeg, should be 4000 x 3000 pixels which equals 12 megapixels (MP). The jpeg version file sizes are generally in the several megabyte (MB) range, depending on compression, so 3.6 MB would be reasonable. The RAW image files should be much larger - around 25 MB.
