Internal Memory ?

As far as the smart controller goes how much memory does it have on board and in what instance would you want to put an additional memory card in it for added storage ? From my understanding when filming or photographing the image on there is low res so does this mean there is ample storage on board to accommodate a lot of these low res files ?

~12 GB - 4 GB+ is used by the OS and apps the other 7+ GB can be used for cache/storage. I believe DJI idea was you can pop the drones SD card in your controller and edit and share right from your phone radio. I keep a spare SD card in mine as I really do not like editing on a 5" screen but it works in a pinch.
