I wanted to add that the drone was over a barely used train track the whole time and that is pretty much fenced off from the public

Are you using a cover, a naked iphone is better for that.

Also wonder if a heat sink on the back would help...

Just The flight app, also put it in airplane mode.

Anything that increases the surface area of the back could help- but it would be cumbersome.

thanks for the idea but the crystal sky already arrived and I’m liking it big-time but I guess I could still try that when I use the spark on a hot day

Take the phone as a backup, to check B4UFly, Notams and to run Litchi if you have it. That’s what I do.

I would definitely still use it for a AirMap yeah crystal sky isn’t good for much else I don’t use android
