Next time you see a drone in the wild, go for it and see how easy it is to track it down and the owner. I bet you stand less than a 50/50 chance of getting the details. An IOS or Android app with that kind of record is deleted and never used again regardless of the "technical functionality." Karens are not going to use the crap that is widely available.

What is it that you are doing about the RID-related theft and violence that you see coming? What is your plan of action? How do other support your efforts?

Bury our heads today and we'll get slammed later on like we are getting slammed now with a DJI drone ban because we were asleep in the past when I was blowing the whistle and everyone said I was crying wolf.

You can look in the archives for the predictions of theft, violence, and annoyances associated with RID back in the summer of 2023, when RID was already being broadcast for all the newer DJI models and the compliance date had not arrived. There was a lot of hand-wringing over the imminent danger. People wrote about the need for firearms, bear spray, and physical self defense against the thieves and irritable folks who don't like drones. Folks said that the coming year would be plagued with incidents related to RID once RID became mandatory for all drones.

It hasn't happened. The wolf has not shown his snout. I've had no problems installing and using RID detection apps. I understand that Apple users haven't had similar success. Should we conclude that all those criminals eager to rob and assault drone pilots are Apple users and can't bear the thought of buying an Android phone to support their criminal endeavors?

Ok, you blew the whistle and everyone else was asleep. What was your solution to the the US government having its nose out of joint about DJI that we all failed to help with?

(By the way, the only DJI drone ban we are currently facing is the ban on new DJI models being imported into the US.)

Well, most consumers don't intend to track down drone operators and rob or assault them. Criminal types who see drone thefts as easy pickings could certainly pony up $1500 for better gear.

We can't wait for the facts to kick in. We can't wait for the violence to begin, we need to take step to prevent the violence to make sure it doesn't happen.

There wasn't a lot of fear. There was some concern. Don't be so dramatic about what you thought you heard.

"Lots of fear" is pure exaggeration. Some people were concerned. Some still are. Many people were armed and aware for years and none of it was sparked by RID. But you have to call it "hysteria" and such drama otherwise you can't make your point.

There is no such thing a "RID-facilitated" violence. There is only violence and robberies and the things we do that enable it or make it easier or more prevalent. We seek to eliminate or minimize anything we can do to prevent violence and robberies and not make it easier *before* it happens; we don't wait for it to happen first. We prefer not to be victims.

If you believe RID can incite new violence then you have been misled. Maybe you should stop listening to the 1% or re-interpreting posts to fit your narrative. Just like one airplane engine is one too many to suck in a drone, one robbery is one too many and FYI that doesn't mean take the same steps to combat either; both require a different approach. But we can't get there until the community pulls together on this. There will likely come a time to fight when the government wants to make RID mandatory on *all* drones and when the government is going to want RID mandatory to fly in the NAS and we need to be on the same page instead of bending the knee again like we did with this ban. If we look back and say RID was introduced and nothing bad has happened so far, go ahead government and implement your new RID rules, then we suck.

People still don't accept it. "You'll be able to keep your drones" or "You'll always be able to fly whatever you have, they won't ground us." "DJI love us and they hate our government, they would never do that to their "customers"; we are safe."

It's a slow motion disaster in progress and so many are wearing blinders. I didn't know the exact steps to get there, this could have taken many different paths; still can. All I know is "bad things will happen." No DJI sales in the US. No warranty or repair or support in the US. A ban on all further drones imminent. A possible future ban retroactive on older drone. Is that not "bad things?" Was I "spouting?" Unbelievable.

This all ends with government confiscation. Period.

Unfortunately there are a lot of paranoid people out there who will try to get others paranoid as well. It's kind of like how a lot of religious people try to force their beliefs on you to validate their beliefs. So are the paranoid. They validate their paranoia but trying to get others paranoid.

Step 1: When half the drone community has a problem with RID and prepares to take on the possibility that upcoming challenges to RID will be problematic, instead of calling them "paranoid" and asking for receipts proving that there is an exiting problem after you've been told there is not problem today but it's going to turn into a problem one day, we can start by becoming an understanding community and for example, recognizing that not everyone lives in a small rural town or in the suburbs where there is no crime and neighbors are in love with the friendly neighborhood drone flyer. You don't live here in America but I do and I've seen it before. Our government(s) is about to take a big big bite out of the drone community and eat us alive and I can see it coming from a mile away and it saddens me that no one else can see it. Fine if you don't agree with it, that's ok but why the opposition?
