Issues connecting to Pixel 2 XL

So as the title states, I cannot get my Mavic Pro to connect to my pixel 2 XL. I have tried restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling, force closing the Lorem Ipsum Temp Mail 10 Minute Mail app, turning on and off controller, just about everything. However, I download dji go 4 in my gf's original pixel, and it connected right away... What the hell!

I know the app is mediocre, at best, on Android but I used to be able to connect without any issue.. Any suggestions?

Have you tried plugging into the USB A port on the bottom of the controller? (If you have a cable for it) I can connect my Pixel 2 XL to both but for some reason the bottom port seems more reliable.
