Take the D@$n gimbal cover off before starting the drone.

Had several instances where I simply forgot to take the cover off. Hopefully I remember why I put it there???

Yeah, I've done that a couple of times. Especially for things like firmware updates, where I'm not actually going to fly.

It would be nice if the gimbal cover pushed on a microswitch when installed, so that the drone could display an error and not try to move the gimbal.

Every time I'm about to fly I'm like, what's this dangly bit, oh yeah, my gimbal cover reminder!

I'm a spry 30 year old who forgot on his 2nd flight and swore never to forget again lol

In the future it would be nice if the app alerted you to take the gimbal cover off. We get alerts for nearly everything else

It does. "Gimbal stuck" warning.

Yes. But before takeoff. If you see the "Gimbal stuck" warning and don't fix it immediately, it'll go to "Gimbal overload."

Which is bad.

I glued a bright red, long ribbon to the gimbal cover.

Well Im not guilty for leaving the gimbal cover on...I tend to muck around with the ND filters so its a bit of a fail safe....
But I have put th props on back to front in my haste to take off..

I forgot to take it off once .. now i have "gimbal guard" written next to the power button on the controller

My understanding is that a warning should prevent something from happening, not warn you after the fact.
