Limited range

Hello everyone,
New pilot/member here I recently purchased a mini. I live in a semi rural area and have been learning to fly in my back 40. The question I have is what kind of range can I expect? I have been getting 1500 - 2000 ' distance before losing signal. Any ideas?

A bit over 600m, one could expect maybe a little more range, perhaps double that.
You are running an FCC mode mini there I guess ?

The usual things . . .
Antenna orientation correct
Enough altitude to keep decent LOS for signal (above nearby trees / terrain)
Fly away from the house if you have wifi setup

I had my first loss of signal warning at 1300 meters out, last month, went straight up a few meters and signal came back..

You certainly should get more range. Do you live in an area with lots of tall trees? What part of Michigan?
