MA and MP Radio Frequencies Appear the Same - What Am I Missing?

I see lots of talk about how the "Wi-Fi" controller/system on the MA being a poor replacement for the "OccuSync" controller/system. Thinking that both are transmitted via a radio frequency, I went to the DJI site where they compare models and found that the frequencies appear to be the same (more or less) for both the MA and the MP at 2.4x ghz frequency and that the MA has an additional frequency of 5.x ghz.

That said, is there someone educated enough to explain what I am missing here?

OcuSync works in the same 2.4 GHz band as wifi, but uses a quite different protocol.

The Mavic Air uses a similar WiFi system to the Spark / RC combo. Not as good in my personal experience but gets the job done. OcuSync is far superior IMHO.
