3 Matheson Park, Coral Gables (Miami) Florida

Our weather finally got cooler (e.g.: less than 90 degrees F.)and it is now possible to go outside. Today was actually on the cold side and moderate winds. This is a nearby park that is my go-to place for practice (e.g.: no tree canopies, wires, etc.). It provides great views of a marina, and downtown Miami, and great lagoon that looks lime South Pacific. Lots of video also which I plan on turning into a film very soon, but here is a peek at the stills. Click on image to enlarge.

Glad to see you’re back with us Dale. Have missed your quality photography and these all show your lovely clear water. I was chatting with an Australian pal on Monday when he and his family came to visit and I asked him if drones are widespread in Aus. He lives in Sydney. He said they sure are-we check the ocean for great whites every morning and throughout the day! Much cheaper than sending a chopper or fixed wing up!

I like when you say it finally got cool enough to fly outside. In Minnesota, I am waiting for it to get warm enough to stretch out my new Avata 2. Outside it is 8 (but it is a +8 !). Tomorrow it may hit 25 and I will give it a go.

Does the pond have access to the sea? Tides? Doubt it's fresh water

It is not a pond, but a lagoon, and yes, it has access to Biscayne Bay which connects to the Atlantic Ocean, which is all salt water. There is a high end restaurant on the edge of the lagoon. The neighborhood you see
(Gables Estates) is one of the most expensive in Miami, where most homes are in the multi million dollar range. Those with water views , cost even more.

The communication with the bay can be seen at 7:00 where there is a small outlet and bridge.

Our seasons are reversed. Summer here means most days it is always near 90 Fahrenheit or 32.2 Celsius. We simply cannot leave the house (air conditioned), we run to the air conditioned car, and the restaurants and stores are freezing but outside it is extremely hot-,...too hot to fly or do almost anything. We look forward to south Florida winters where we get daily temperatures in the 70's (26.1 C). Yesterday it was "cold" in the 50's (10 celcius).

We live in south Texas over 15 years and seen ice maybe twice, although after a bad freeze Palm trees just seem to melt away. Very cool pictures.

As you know, some parts of Texas, and definitely South Florida are like living inside a sauna for months. Everyone is sweaty, hot, humid, and horrible o go outside. (Not to mention hurricanes).
