Mavic 2 photo button issues or am i a dummy?

So I'm assuming on the pro that the light press auto focuses and a full press takes a picture? Might does the auto focus just fine but I can never get it to take a picture with a full press, I usually have to press the button on my phone. Am I doing something wrong? This seems a bit silly and I'm sure the solution is right in front of me unless my controller is just broken.

And to clarify, a half press gets me the auto focus and the beeping, a full press gets me nothing.

That's how it is supposed to work - has the full press never worked? If so then I would guess you have a defective button.

I feel like it kinda worked when I first got it, but it's only got 3 flights on it. I guess I need to call dji...yay!

Full press - takes almost a second pressing it and then it takes the picture but only if it is not recording video. You have to stop that first, but you can use the photo button to focus while recording video.
