Hi all,

Has anyone had an internal battery bay or rear shell defect on a Mavic (no crash or impact) that DJI repaired under warranty rather than Care Refresh?

I’ve noticed an internal trim issue near the battery locking area and I’m also getting an occasional “Battery Error” that clears after reinserting the battery.

I’m trying to understand how DJI have handled similar cases.

Any experiences appreciated — especially if you were pleasantly surprised by a warranty outcome.

Thanks 👍

From what is visible in your picture, looks to be some unwanted debris and some scuffing on the two rails. Takeoff area in the sand or dirt?

Always taken off from concrete.

The weird thing is that there are no marks on any of the x3 batteries, none.

I've raised a service repair claim with DJI. I will be sending the drone, along with the batteries so they can fully inspect the whole thing.

I'm just not sure if they will try and wriggle out of a warranty repair, and try and charge me for the repair.

I have been so careful with it too, handling and checking it properly, before and after every flight. Hence why I'm scratching my head with this one, because I just cannot understand what's caused that, when the batteries are unmarked, and that area is usually sealed tight when the battery is clipped on the drone.

Definitely missing plastic there. There are slots, but there should be plastic between the slot and the inner plate that is screwed on. I wonder if it could be caused by forcing the battery in upside down? Doesn't sound like you would force it though. Good luck with the claim.

Who would you say is at fault here?

DJI or the FCC?
Well depends. While the FCC has banned future product from being sold here I've been asking for OVER A YEAR why DJI isn't selling current product here because of the customs situation. The not being able to ship to the US stated October 2024. A year and 2 months before the Ban went into effect. So DJI won't answer the question as to why they can't get their products through customs. SOMETHING HAPPENED that has nothing to due with the FCC thing.

Both DJI and the US gov have said DJI equipment being blocked is because the US has accused DJI of using forced labor (Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act). DJI denies it, but our government insists that DJI prove a negative.
