Hello all!
Been a P3P flyer for a few years and have been present on other forums for a while. Last night I took my newly purchased (2 months) Mavic Air for a quick flight and it didn't exactly go according to plan. Totally my own fault, lessons to be learnt.
In a nutshell there are two issues, one major, one minor.
Major issue: Both front arm landing folding feet hinges have snapped, the feet are only being held on by a single wire (in good condition).
Minor issue: Lost a rear arm landing foot rubber/plastic insert.
My question is this: I've had a rough quote for repair from an approved UK DJI repair centre circa £200 ($260ish), they suspect its a front arm replacement job. I can stomach this given I thought the actual incident was going to total the drone. Given the quote, would it be worth sending it to DJI instead or even look at purchasing replacement arms, splitting them and just trying to replace the feet/hinges? Or should I just swallow it - learn a life lesson and move on...
Any thoughts would be most welcome
