Mavic Air Low Noise Propellers?

Fantastic!! That mavic air is gorgeous! I would be interested in getting the CNC'd prop adapters. What are they made of? I would imagine someone can make a 3d printed version of the adapters with reinforced holders as I am not sure how people can get access to a CNC.
If there is interest i’ll make a bunch for sure
Material is delrin
I dont think a print would be concentric enough ? Nor strong enough for me, that sounds dangerous

Check out this guys design for a prop adapter. It actually works pretty **** good but I agree that it doesn't really instill 100% confidence. I've flown it with my anafi props on some low level flights and its been fine for a few batteries. Need more time and a safe location for higher flight testing. I am using it but there is definitely vibrational noise that negates any sound dampening. He says its due to the anafi prop design, an inherent flaw in the blades. Not to mention adapting it to the mavic air would cause some other issues. His solution and yours are the best so far for silencing the mavic air.

I wish mine were louder

So i’ve had some very good results with these HQ 5x4x3 props
No torque alarms, not as quiet as master screw prop but amazingly got an extra 1minute fly’n time to the standard prop
Also seemed far more agile to inputs....awesome prop12532B81-8AB5-4BE0-B2B3-E822DAAD501F.jpeg

Wonderful! Do they attach via screws at the bottom? Sound consistent? Have u tried these gemfan props? They have the swept tip like the mavic 2 series for noise reduction. The problem with those tri blades is that its not portable at all but the sound reduction, if significant enough, would make up for it. I am quite obsessed like you in reducing the noise issue with the mavic air and would love to try your derlin adapters. Check your PM.

Hi all,

Been following this thread for some time as my one big issue with the Mavic Air is the high pitched whine it produces - I like most everything else about it, but was hoping that someone (DJI or Master AirScrew) would produce a low noise prop for the Mavic Air. I just got an email from Master AirScrew and the person indicated that new low noise props will be coming out for the Mavic Pro 2's within a couple of weeks, but nothing for the Mavic Air. Frustrating.

This is work’n very well
Gemfan 5042 props....best results, so quiet
You gotta wonder about there R&D....not on the pulseC8368D9E-5DE8-4C7A-8A6C-FAF5F402D801.jpeg

What!! Master airscrew said to me they will be releasing the mavic air ones last dec, then jan, then in a few weeks......now its confirmed, there is no more development for the mavic air silent props? There is a big demand for this right? Or am I delusional??? Every single reviewer has stated the mavic air drone is very noisy and not in a good way. Its not too obnoxious but still enough to annoy people and ruin the portability aspect to an extent where people would rather take their mavic pro platinums or mavic 2s instead because of the quiet aspect.

I'm more of a forum reader than a poster, I'm patiently waiting for the day either a set of adapters or replacement props become available to quieten it down.

I also agree there are many people in the wild after alternative props specifically looking for lowering the noise of the MA over increasing performance/flight time etc.

Whoever it is that gets a sturdy and stout product to mass market first with either option (adapt or replace) will make a small fortune as it seems no other manufacturer is interested in stepping up to the plate!

The minute that happens, DJI will target you and eliminate you! Craigs design is the best so far but the anafi mod is a close second if the vibration issues could be eliminated or smoothed out. We need more youtubers or instagrammers to test out craigs design and that will be good enough publicity. It will be up to him to mass produce and market it if he decides to. If not, it will just be for the drone specialist community, which is fine.

Heah guys
Bad news, mid testing with this gemfan 5042 had a few torque warnings come up then the whole thing shut down and fell like a rock.....wrecked the gimbal leaving the camera hanging from wires !
Better to have a noisey drone in the air than a pile of parts on the ground !
The problem is all the props out there their pitch is to tall, the mavic air prop pitch is 3.2 inch, anything over 4.0 pitch will throw up torque warnings and you will end up were i am now !
The only safe alternative is wait for dji, i will sell you guys adapters but be it at your own peril !

Craigw, sorry to hear about the testing issue - thanks for trying to resolve the problem. The Mavic Air has been out about a year now. I am afraid that we may never see the low noise props since they have not appeared yet. Might be an engineering issue that cannot be overcome and DJI/Master AirScrew realizes that. I agree with Mxs about taking the MA out when there are going to be people around - in these situations, I grab either my Mavic Pro (fitted with the low noise props) or Anafi because they are so much more quiet. I use the MA when I am out away from people where it will not disturb. Unfortunately, I live in a suburban area where there seems to be people around most of the time. Hence, the MA does not see as much use as it should. So portable and capable otherwise, but the noise factor is a major issue for me.

Sorry to hear Craigw, especially when you're actively trying to pioneer things for yourself and others. Things like that are more a kick in the nuts feeling than "finding the boundaries".

So sorry to hear this! But we knew what we were getting into and accepted the risk. No way to figure these things out without some testing. Would be interested to see the airdata flight log and see what conditions led up to the crash. Maybe it was preventable? Or maybe you just need to fly it more carefully and not max out its agility? How many successful min or hours have u gotten with that propeller set without problems?

This is getting ridiculous that there's no props for the air out yet. It's like it really is the bastard stepchild of dji
