Mavic firmware and Crystalsky

Has anyone used the Ma updated with .400 and a Cs. The firmware release notes ask to make sure to update to the latest go4 version before updating. Are they really issuing critical update that make 400 dollar product (the CS 5.5) unusable for weeks or months while waiting for it to be updated? I hope I'm just misunderstanding the notes.

I updated my Mavic Air and couldn't update the CS but have no issues.

Just got CS and updated my MA. No issues flying...
