Morning everyone. New to this. I bought a cheap £190 drone a couple of weeks back camera and range awful but great fun to fly. I was totally hooked after flying for about 4 mins (would have been longer only the battery ran out). I sent it back and ordered a Mavic mini which should be here latest Monday.

So my question.
Does the firmware updates complete quicker if you do them through a laptop or through the app. I know doing it through laptop you have to update the drone then the controller and through the app both do together.
Just wondering if anyone had any preference and why.

Thanks folks
J

For me, it's more of a matter of convenience. Updating the firmware from DJI Fly works well for most people and is more convenient.

Yeah.. convenience at it's finest. You start it via DJI Fly from phone/tablet.. wait 10 minutes and it does update everything without you having to plug them in a certain order. The only thing that is not automated is the power on after the update completes. Yeah, the mini will just turn off after the update.

it easier doing it through the app just make sure you restart the drone to activate the update then power it off first and then the controller and finally the app
