I may not be reading this right but it would appear that the Mavic Mini for Japan is weighted at 200g which would make it free of the bureaucratic BS. Is there a physical difference compared to international versions?

Same here. I’m not tuned in to the language form used in that ad.
It would surprise me if there was two different weights being produced.

Oh, I know I’m reading it right. I just don’t know if it’s official that there are 2 different versions. The Tello was kind of popular here. I purchased one hoping that I just use it for flight practice. Unfortunately the Bluetooth connection with joysticks just didn’t work. I was stuck with using the iPhone app.

I ordered the Mavic Mini cause I want to be able to go out there anytime and just practice.

Anyway, it certainly appears that there are 2 different versions of the Mavic Mini.

The battery is only at 1100 mAh compared to 2400 mAh, and that’s the weight reduction.

Oh okay. Now I get it. That’s why the flight time is listed at only 18 minutes on the Japanese website.

Got dayum DJI is smart. “Miss me with that BS”. I can live with 18minutes of flight time. I’ll just pick up another battery.

249g is not available in Japan?

Apparently yes, but the headaches to fly 200g + is really difficult.
To the point it’s just about impractical.
Check out another thread here re this, loads of info.
I’ll find it and come back to post link.

Edit DJI Tokyo ( Mavic MINI )
DJI Tokyo ( Mavic MINI )

I’m interested in getting the MM and using the 1100 batteries, you can skin it, add a strobe, still be under 250g for rest of world.

Can I replace these batteries with 2400m ah batteries to get better flight time ?

I believe the Japan market battery size etc is the same, just less cells making it another 50g lighter.
So theoretically you should be able to slip either battery into the space.
Edit just read other thread again, comment physically differnt size ? Not confirmed, could have meant physically different in cell size ?
Whether there are any software restrictions on using the 2400mah battery in a Japanese version aircraft is a potential issue is unknown as yet, though there was the interested party there going to try it ( @SpinRush )
