Hi All, I have a question.
| am considering buying a used Mavic Pro 2. Can I Fly this UAV without RemoteID in 2024 and futher in Europe ? I have passed the exam for my Air 2s drone to fly but to be honest I find the rules for RemoteID very confusing. I am not going to fly the Mavic in urban areas. Only in the open areas. A3.

As far as I know you‘re not allowed to fly anything above 250g if it doesn‘t have a Cx Label. Thats probably the biggest hurdle to get the old birds flying.

You can put on a remoteid module no problem (also mandatory because weight & camera) besides that.

Thank you for your answer.
I was hoping , as the Movic Pro 2 is clearly pre 31 december 2023, you are allowed to fly A3 and Open Category.
But I find all the new rules very confusing.
In the open nature, i find the remoteID overkill. I don't like my name or ID transmitted over the air when the drone is like 500 m away and technically i have no VLOS.

DJI’s latest Mavic 2 firmware updates the drone to transmit and comply with Remote ID in the US. I don’t know if the firmware is different based on the country you are in.

The rules from EASA says ALL the drones must have RID, cause she edit AAM/UTM!!! But she some limit time to the pilots to complying with this!!! And all of that for future logistic flights!!!
MP2 has RID in the firmware and don't need module RID!!!
