Mavic Pro Battery Mod

hey guys I cant find the info about properly exchanging stock battery cells to other cells WITHOUT Bricking stock-batt-controller. do I only loose sumVoltage telemetry? is it enough to give power to the main connectors during exchange? or do I have to supply current to balance connector too?

Hi guys , I think a have a better way to mod the battery so please take a look at my thread .
Mavic Air battery mod
Thanks :)

Hi Guys.
Have a question regarding voltage lag and what is a acceptable amount. I recently hardwired my mavic for externals, I was using the MaxxUAV battery clip. Took the mavic out 1 mile and brought it back and measured the voltage. Here are the results: All 3 cells on both externals ranged from 3.88-3.90v, while the app showed the main at 4.00v. Would this be considered a acceptable amount?
Thanks to all
Happy flying !

I believe when they refer to the voltage lag due to increased resistance from the battery clip the voltage on the external batteries remains higher then of the stock Mavic battery.

Thank you for your input, SkyNinja. What would be considered as low C. I currently have 2 sets of externals. 1 is a Multistar 3000mah LiHV at 10-20C. 2nd set are Turnigy Bolt 1800mah LiHV at 65-130C. The Bolts have the high C value, but with the 10-20C the Multistar offers, is that too low of a C value?
Thank you again.

The Mavic doesn't require a high c rating battery! It only draws around 11 amps for cruising. For a battery mod most cells work fine. I've flown 32 mins with a non lihv batt attached! They quickly level under load.

Thank you for your input, mavicpro1000, it is greatly appreciated. So I am fine with either set of externals as far as the C value goes?

You shouldn’t have any issues with the batteries you are using. Most people that have problems with the battery clip show higher voltage in the external batteries compared to the stock battery. Meaning there stock battery had less resistance and draining faster than the external.

Remember with this extra weight the Mav likes to keep moving forward for some air cooling. Those two front motors get VERY hot very quick!

It would be interesting to do a thermal comparison test to see just how much hotter the mavic motors get with the extra weight. If I can get my hands on a thermal gun I'll post my results.
