Side mounting will work. You just need to keep wires from hanging down where the sensors underneath the mavic may sense them. Many of us run batteries on the side.

Let us know if any issues. Maybe not at all, some flights will tell.

Well I took it out for a test flight and it did go into ATTY mode on it's own a couple of times. I don't know if that is because of the mod or something else but I may look at re-routing the cables to get them away from that compass anyway. I don't want to take any chances.

Did you have anything strapped on top covering the gps receiver behind the main battery?

No nothing on the rear. It went back into Atty mode again after I moved the wires even plus it gave me a Compass Error so I Calibrated the compass and all seems to be ok now.

Do you normally have to recalibrate the compass if you unplug it from the main board?

I am make myself and like that digdat0. I leaving bare.. Remove the plastic shell, weight at 30g the plastic shell.

Dji Dual battery mod & 2 x 4000mAh LiHV.

2 x XT60 in wires (- Negative + Positive)

Add to soldered the power pins. (2,3 negative) and (5,6,7 positive +)

Not yet ouside just rain and windly.. I will ouside long distance the single 4000mAh LiHV and next 5200mAh LiHV. After 2 x 4000mAh. look good updated my post the Dji Dual battery mod & 2 x 4000mAh LiHV well.
