Final update: the Mavic was replaced free of charge. Total turn around time was almost 3 weeks ( repaircentre Barendrecht Netherlands). Most important reason to replace, was the smoke they could smell from within.

For ease of mind, I will order the DJI Care....

I have a Mavic Pro that is also smoking as soon as try to turn on battery. I would like to connect to pc and get flight logs off the drone. How did you get the logs off from it. As soon as battery tries to come on, I hear a popping sound and then the smoke comes. Unable to connect to turn it on to connect to PC.

how did you fix the smoke issue coming from your drone

I had to send it to DJI for repair. Not covered under warranty. Cost me $229. Paid on 3/15 and received replacement (not my original) 3/20. Hope this helps. Good luck.
