I'm about to bring my old Pro Platinum back to life.
I wonder will a RC2 controller work for this drone?

It doesn't look like you ever got an answer? I have a Pro Platinum and I'm thinking the USB port on my controller is bad. I've tried several different cords but it's really loose. I can't find a replacement original controller except used ones on E bay. Does anyone know if there are newer, available controllers that would work? I've gone through re pairing the controller and the drone and it flashes green and says ready to fly and will in fact fly. I found this sight and saw a thread where the problem could be an Iphone 16, which is about when the problem started. But I just tried it with my Ipad and still doesn't show any connection on the DJIgo4 app. Any advice would be appreciated.

Which USB port are you using? If it is the micro USB on the left side of the remote it is prone to the locating pin in the port getting broken. I use a full sized USB in the bottom of the remote to connect the controller and my iPhone 13 Pro Max or iPad mini and just charge the remote via the side port. You can’t have cables plugged into both.

Nope just the original controller

Yes a lot of people have had issues with the go4 app and the newer iphones and ipads, mainly i guess because the app was written for a much earlier IOS version, that said i cant get the latest version to work on my ipad mini 4 it just opens and the closes, seems to work a lot better on Android devices even the newer ones

No problems using the latest version of Go 4 on an updated iPad Mini4. I suggest you delete it and reload it from the App Store.
For info I’m using
iPad Mini 4 on iPadOS 15.8.4
DJI Assistant 2 version 1.1.2, developer hack applied. I did change a few of the settings a long time ago. Once I was happy I haven't changed them since.
DJI Go 4 version 4.3.64 (11 months old according to Apple)
Aircraft firmware 01.04.0500
Remote firmware 01.04.0500
Basic and Precise FlySafe database 01.00.01.09 updated today August 22, 2025

All worked fine, connected to my account, showed all logs and cached images from my DJI drones.
I refused firmware checks which didn't cause other warnings. I didn't fly but did start the motors and there were no warnings present
