What are all these tiny RC cables that came with the Mavic?

I did a flight the other day and didn't need any of them. I can't find anything in the manual either.

Do they serve any purpose?

They are used to connect a phone to the micro USB port on the left side of the remote controller.

Are you using a tablet, and using the bottom USB with your own USB cord? If so you don't need them but you would of you wanted to use a phone with the controller.

Yeah I was using a tablet.

Even for a phone couldn't you just use a normal USB/lightning cord though?

Ok great.

Sounds like there is no need for me to carry around these extra cables then.

Nope. I always leave mine at home.

No need for them. But if you're not in the Apple ecosystem, you might want to sell the Lightning cable - they cost twice as much as the other cables!

I wouldn't mind having an extra lightning cable;-)

This could be a pay it forward thread or swap thread:
Who needs an extra micro USB cable?

I broke my cable within a week of getting the Mavic and then learned 1- DJI is the only manufacturer out there of micro USB to Lightning cables and 2- in Europe they're very expensive!

Sure, but then the cable sticks out of the phone into your hand just right where you'd want to hold the remote. The DJI cables just make for a clean solution.
