I waited for the Mini 3 to come out before I made my decision. As much as I like the Mini 3, the Mini 2 works well enough for me and it pretty cheap for what I'm getting. Costco just offered $100 gift card on the Mini 2 package (2nd battery, SD card, soft case), so I jumped in. I got it $339 before taxes with the gift card by buying with my Costco Visa (which I got for this purchase) plus I get 3% back with my Costco account.
I'm pretty excited about it as it's something I've wanted to do for awhile. We are doing a pool remodel for a needy family at work (it is all volunteer and 100% donated) and would like to do before/after pictures. So I figured between that and a wedding in Hawai'i in July, I might as well get my feet wet.
I'll either love it and spend way too much on my next one. Or find that only use it occasionally and stick with what I got. Part of the fun is finding out.
