Hello everyone,

I recently crashed my beloved DJI Mini 3 Pro in the woods and wasn’t able to retrieve it for three days. The timeline afterwards went like this:
  • I let the drone dry for four days before touching it again.
  • As soon as I inserted the battery, it powered on by itself and couldn’t be turned off.
  • I then disassembled it and soaked the mainboard in alcohol, cleaned everything carefully, and reassembled it.
  • Now it powers on again.
Problem: The IMU can’t be calibrated, and the gimbal doesn’t calibrate either.

The IMU calibration gets stuck at 94%, and after some time it says calibration failed. I’ve managed to get some individual directions calibrated, but they weren’t the ones the app was asking for. So it seems the IMU isn’t completely dead…

What do you think? I couldn’t find a similar post, but maybe someone has experienced this before or has some insight? I’d really appreciate your help.

This will happen usually when the Drone is attempting to Calibrate on an uneven surface. MAKE SURE you are following the directions to the letter......Most important, Find a flat, level surface to calibrate your Drone! Do it outside away from Everything if possible. Remember....Level surface!
No concrete or metal should be anywhere around you!!

I’ve had that before and have had to replace the GPS/IMU board. Mine didn’t get anywhere close to 94% though. The fact that it’s calibrating in the wrong orientation indicates that the IMU is broken.

That is also what I figured, in the beginning there were error messages with GPS not working as well. So I am fairly confident that the spare part I ordered is the right one. Thank you for your help!
