You've already won the lottery by receiving what you ordered from these scam third party sellers on Amazon! Get a State Farm Personal Articles Policy to cover just the drone for $75 and call it good. No repair, but State Farm will refund your Amazon purchase price if you crash or lose it. Not sure about the 3 year Protection Plan from Amazon. If you can, I would cancel it. It is probably full of exclusions and limitations in the fine print and repairs are unavailable in the U.S., and DJI no longer offers Refresh in the U.S. because all replacement Refurbs are held up at Customs.
Thanks for the heads up. I have Allstate for my homeowners policy. Called them, and they said on my particular policy the drone is already covered - all hazards including loss or damage.
About my winning the lottery: it was an adventure. When I started trying to buy one off Amazon a month and 1/2 ago, there were only a couple of "kit" providers. Either cost about $2100 for the
Mini 4 Pro Flymore box with various accessories thrown in. In either vendor's case, the accessories amounted to cheap ticky tacky junk. But they were the only game in town. I ordered one. It never came. Placed claim with UPS. Three weeks later, UPS denied the claim to the seller. Filed an A-Z refund request with Amazon, along with all evidence that UPS never delivered a thing, never got my signature, never even got a picture of the front porch arrival as is their norm. Amazon gave me my money back. Presumably, while UPS was able to tell the seller to pound sand, I'm sure Amazon took their pound of UPS flesh.
Meanwhile, two weeks into the chase for that original order, I ordered a "kit" from the OTHER kit seller. This one came, but I didn't open it for fear the original might yet show up. When I got my A-to-Z money back from Amazon for the 1st order, I went back online to check status. And suddenly, there was a provider offering the drone alone And at a reasonable price. I checked my order status's, and my second kit order was still within the 30 day window. I returned it "No Longer Needed" and then proceeded to order the standalone
Mini 4 Pro, along with the required accessories from various vendors - In essence creating my own "kit" - including case, target, 2 batteries, sd card, charger. Rolling my own kit saved me spending $800 on ticky tack. So yeah - lottery.
Again, thanks for the help.
