Minnesota - Where CAN we fly?

I found one thing in my search:

While Minneapolis and St. Paul do not allow flying (i.e. take off, landing, operating) within a park, I have been unable to find anything forbidding drone activity in Apple Valley and Burnsville. So parks within those two city limits may be a possibility.

(I searched both the "legalese" city ordinances and the park rules - Apple Valley had a mention of drones in some meeting minutes, but I found no result from the meeting, and Burnsville only states that drone operators must follow FAA guidelines).

If you want to fly strictly legal go to sodbusters RC park it’s right on Google maps

Technically it is and I try to get a hold of somebody through their website and nobody responded so I flown there a couple times and nobody happen to be there. Here’s a tip go across the street from the sodbusters and there’s a huge farm next to the holiday gas station I have flown there a few times there is a short cul-de-sac right there, No farmhouse

Back when (longer than I care to admit) I was flying r/c heli's I got an earful from someone who showed up and told me I was trespassing if I was not a member.
Never thought about that park or joining again.
Will have to check it out. Thanks.

If you’re looking for just a place to practice wide-open nobody bothering you check out the farm field next to the holiday gas station it’s only about two blocks off I 94

I created a shared google map with layers of places in categories of no permits, permit required, restricted.

Suggest feedback and updates. Share places that don't require a permit to fly drone there and I'll add it to the list.

btw, more than half of those laws you cite are unenforceable. the state of minnesota has zero jurisdiction over airspace or drone registration. that is FAA territory
I was going to write something similar. The town of st. Bonifacius especially seems to be mis-informed as to who regulates airspace, even over their town.

Now whether you want to spend your money to teach them that is a different story.

The rest of it is non-sense too. They can prohibit you from taking off and landing somewhere, but they can’t prohibit you from flying over. You can take off and land on private property, keep it in vlos and fly over a park observing any other applicable federal regs, they don’t own the air above a park.

As previously mentioned, it might wind up costing you money to prove it to them.
This is false the state of Minnesota has sovereignty of its airspace up to 14000ft (way higher than any non military drone is going to fly)
And therefore can regulate all things within that airspace

They may claim to have sovereignty but the Feds say they do not. The only regulatory agency with the right to control airspace is the FAA. The court system has verified this.

United States Air Sovereignty

FAA Fact Sheet

"Sovereignty in the space above the lands and waters of this state is declared to rest in the state, except where granted to and assumed by the United States pursuant to a constitutional grant from the people of this state".

That's where the FAA comes into play.

I grew up in Minnesota, but have no regrets leaving about five years ago. I'll leave it at that.
For sure. Lived in St Louis Park and Hopkins for a decade last century but that was way back when the place was....nice. ;)
