Monitor for Mavic Air other than Smartphone

I’m new to the drone world. Matter of fact haven’t purchased a drone yet. I plan to next week. My question which tablet or other suitable device will work. My iPad mini is too old needs OS 10.0 or greater to operate the DJI App.
I’ve heard kindle fire may or may not work. I was hoping of not spending more than 100.00.
All inputs are welcomed.

I did some mild research on forum to get the most recommended display for my Mavic Air and by far the most frequently recommended was the Ipad Mini 4. Although I didn't want to spend that much, that is what I purchased and it works flawlessly for me.

Yes I agree, and that’s the way I’m leaning.
Thanks for your recommendations. I plan to purchase Mavic Air end of week. Will use iPhone until purchase iPad mini.

I'm contemplating the purchase of DJI FPV Racing Edition goggles to get a better view of what my drone is seeing but, goggles won't run the DJI Go4 app so I'm in the same boat in having to have a mobile device in the mix for the cool stuff the app lets you do.

I used to use an iPad Mini 2, but now use an iPad Air.

Here's the Clincher for us. The I-Pad Mini 4 FITS INSIDE the Controller arms WITHOUT needing a Mount! It's tight, but does fit.
