The other day I was on a TV shoot and the producer wanted an extra drone shot. We could only do this while filming the take so I agreed to fly the drone up and just let it hoover in one spot while we were filming. I put the drone in a safe spot away from people and over some grass and got ready to film the scene. Just before action, we just suddenly heard the drone turn off before a thud as it hit the ground. Not a very nice feeling to say the least. Luckily nobody got hurt. When we picked up the drone it was still on, but no rotors running. What the hell could cause this? I suspect a bad battery connection, just weird the drone was on after the fall from the sky. The camera was running, but recording stopped before it fell down
