Will adding 8-10g onto one of the front legs unbalance the drone???

No, it won't affect flight or balance.
I mounted a Firehouse Tech Dual led stobe under the right front arm of my Spark, on the body.
A simple turn and I can locate it in the air as needed.
Always through I'f I had a mini some day I'd probably mount one either side same place.
The Dual only weighs 4gm each.
