I purchased a Mavic Air 2 fly more combo kit and a hard shell case when they first released them. It has very little flight time due to the fact that I also purchased a Mini 2 once it was released which is my go to drone. I'm trying to determine what resale price is fair for the Mavic 2 since I no longer use it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Without extras the Mavic Air 2 Fly more kits are selling between 500 & 600 dollars on eBay. eBay fees now total about 15% of your total sale including shipping (approximately 75-$85 on your Air 2 kit) so I would suggest that you try to sell local for cash rather than sell online.

Also remeber to undo any binding of the drone and or controller to your DJI account otherwise you could have an unhappy buyer going "Oi I can;t fly this thing 'cause.....".
If it didn't have care refresh then at at guess there is no binding but best check.

Regarding ebay, do you by any chance get junk emails from them regarding reduced seller fees if so could you time the sale to coincide with one of those?

Those shipping rates seem pretty high. What drives that cost? It can't just be weight...can it?

Thx,

MM

Even without care refresh, DJI drones need to bind to a registered account and login each flight to fly fully, even if its 5 years old and out of care refresh and warranty. No binding = no flying more than 30 metres horiz and / or vert. Its about logging who's flying the drone.

In Australia, in the event of a serious accident, the accident investigation people can take the carcass of the drone to DJI and they can tell from drone and gimbal # numbers the account that the drone was being flown under.

Ask this guy.

OK.

I just bought a Mini-1 FMC. I've flown it a couple of times. I've done updates. I use the same phone for this, that I've used for my Mini-2s all along.

What does "binding" mean in this context? I have an active DJI account.

Thx,

MM

@Chaosrider ,binding in your case means linking the drone to your DJI account which matches your email address you use
there is nothing stopping you from using a different email address and creating a different ac just for that drone ,just remember to stay logged into your Account so you dont have the restrictions that @Crouching Leopard mentioned

That's not shipping cost. Ebay bases their fees on the total sale, including shipping. So a $600 sale costs the seller appoximately 15% of $600 which totals $90.

Do I have to do any action to make that happen? Or does it just figure it out based on my phone?

I don't remember ever logging out of my DJI account. When I bought the Care Refresh for my new Mini-SE, it just did it, zip-zip.

I don't have an flight restrictions that I can detect. Out to 2000 ft today, with no problem.

Thx,

TCS

@Chaosrider go on you device launch the fly app no need for the drone or RC
you will get the startup screen
click on profile
go onto settings, and at the bottom of the screen you will see Log Out in red
if you did log out then that would cause the restriction's to distance and height that @Crouching Leopard mentioned

I now have a question about that. I bought my MA2 used and have flown it many, many times with no restrictions. But I also noticed that it's not linked to my DJI account (only the one I bought new is), so if the original owner ever logs out of their account, will it become restricted on flight?

Not 100% certain, but yes that might be the case. Also, if you send it in for repair, the repair details might well be sent to their account as the drone is not registered to you. You should contact DJI and ask them to transfer ownership. They can track it through the # no.

Try emailing your situation to the following and see what they say. I cant guarantee anything but they may be able to help.

Hope this helps.

I'll give that a shot, thank you.

At this point I'm pretty certain those restrictions were caused by a residual belief that it was carrying a payload (prop guards). On Reliant's next flight 2 days later, the restriction s were gone, with no action on my part. I looked at the payload setting in the menu, but it was already off.

IIRC, the manual says the service ceiling in "Payload Mode" is 1500 m. Since my take off elevation is 5300 ft MSL, that would be a no-go.

I am afraid I disagree, my mini 2's were bought second hand and non have given me any trouble. I just looked in the profile>device-management section of the app with one of them, it offers me the option to bind the drone to my account/email-address. Bound drones seemingly give some other notification in their. I went part of the way towards binding but did not complete the process.
