Hi all,
First, intro's suck for me, too much info or not enough? lol. I've been here in search of multiple topics from the Mavic Air to FAA PT 107 tests and I can say your one of the most friendly informative groups I've had the pleasure of finding, so I joined
.
I'm a diesel mechanic by trade, just getting into drones over the last year. I learned to fly with the F100 Ghost w/ no GPS or altitude hold. It taught me a lot. I purchased the Mavic Air about 3 months ago and love everything but the bat time of course. I passed my 107 w/ an 88% last week (anyone looking into getting it I can help with the unknowns) and plan to use it occasionally for "for sale by owner" types for now then hopefully working into the Phantom w/ thermal imaging later (way later). As for the Mavic itself, I'm using it every chance I get to teach myself settings, the best use of the Polar Pro filters, color grading, steady video capture without cinematic mode, etc... I love this drone. I've attached a photo of the Haw river **** in Pittsboro NC, I was a few feet below 400 when it was taken.
That's about it. Any questions feel free to ask. I have the opposite of a normal schedule (nights & weekends) so you'll probably wake up to my reply.
P.S. Don't forget to call your Mom, its Mothers day!!
P.S.S. Wasnt sure whether to create a thumbnail or full image. Please let me know the preferred method. Thanks.
