Welcome to the forum! :)

Any suggestions on where to practice without upsetting anyone in my area?
Ideally not anywhere near people. Then, there's nobody to upset ;)

I'm a new Phoenix Pilot here in Arizona. I use B4UFLY app to determine whether I can fly where I want to fly at. I also make sure I am at least 5 miles away from the State Farm Stadium since I am barely outside of the 5 miles radius, we cannot fly nearby during Sunday NFL. Yarnell, Prescott, and Mayer is beautiful to check out with your drone. I was there on Monday enjoying my flight time out there.

You should start your own thread in Pilot Checkin.

Well hello from New River, AZ. I am new to this also and have been flying in my backyard. Fortunately the area I live in is bordered by the Tonto National forest on 3 sides. And with only 4 houses (3 of which are horse ranches) there is plenty of room.

Definitely gotta take a roadtrip to Northern Arizona. Check out Yarnell, Prescott, Jerome, Cottonwood, Mayer, Prescott Valley, etc. These are your best bet getting some amazing photos and videos. Plus less residences and open spacious view. Since you're in New River, why not check out Lake Pleasant or Anthem Recreational Park? Daisy Mountain Rd is a great place to check out up in Anthem. Arizona is a photogenic state. ?
