Welcome, from another Mavic Mini owner. I keep my Mini stored in the FM case. I'm now more careful about placing the drone in the case with the props positioned correctly. I bent one prop, probably while putting it into the case... It still flies just fine, it's a small bend in the prop, but lesson learned.
Some people only use the case for actually transporting the drone, leaving it out of the case most of the time. I keep mine in the case all the time and it works fine - if I'm careful putting it in...
Visual inspection before each flight.
No specific "routine" maintenance that I've heard of. Maintenance should only be required if you find something wrong.
Don't leave batteries fully charged (or fully discharged) if you're going to be storing the drone for months at a time.
If you haven't already, buy into the DJI Care Refresh Plan (link) for a more economical solution should you somehow damage the drone...
Happy flying

Welcome to our Forum, from Hauptmann, across the Pond in the friendly skies of Texas USA!

You picked a winner in the Mini. Don't be put off by its small size and low price. It's a high performance quad with a great camera.

Just be careful flying in high winds. Read the manual, and practice lost drone recovery. Believe me, your Mini will crash several times, and and sometimes get lost. Don't wait until that happens to learn how to recover a lost drone. I don't own a Mini, so I can't offer much advice on storage. I'm glad to see that a few of our members have answered your question.
