First time drone owner, excited to take her out. Any tips for a newbie? Very tempted to test in the living room first
Anyway, glad to join the forum and looking forward to the wealth of info here.

Only tip is don't test in the living room. Get outside in an open area and start in beginner mode.

Yes, No indoors. If you have to fly indoors get familiar with the Mavic Pro first. Learn its flight characteristics and how to control it in different outdoor situations.

Then get a set of Prop Guards so that you stand a chance of bouncing off things and still remaining in the air.

Update your Home/ Renters insurance for the damage to your home items as well as sign up for a Drone Insurance plan.

For heavens sake man, DONT fly indoors. This is not a toy drone. It’s a lethal weapon indoors with those props spinning at almost 1000rpm. Think SAFETY first. Take it outside in the wide open, get to learn how to fly, and how all the safety features make the craft react. Get some fly time under your belt safely and properly. Best wishes
