Hello from the Crossroads of America jbnc.

If you have to unfold the "arms" of the aircraft, it's probably a MAVIC type of drone including the mini series.

Welcome to the Forum.

Thanks MA2 317! I thought Indiana was part of the Heartland, now learned about "The Crossroads of America"! Thanks for the explanation on "mavic drones" as well, I had a Spark as well , so spark=no foldable wings=not Mavic, DJI Mini2=foldable wings=mavic?

The mini's started with the Mavic Mini ( original ).

After that, they were just called mini's even though they have the foldable arms like the first one and the big brother line of MAVICS.

I have a Mavic Air 2 and the next one in line was just DJI Air 2s.

Old habits are hard to break.

Thanks Mrktn! Been to the UK a few times (London area), awesome place, haven't flown any drones there yet, I understand some of your laws are different, hopefully I can visit again and get some footage!!
Never been to North Carolina or anywhere in the US. Is there much to interest the drone in NC?

Thanks MA2 317, thats when the confusion started for me!

I had a Spark as well

Long live the SPARK !

Mine was retired awhile back, but I have a NEO to bring back the memories.

It's no SPARK, but it is a tough little aircraft and fun to fly around the home. :)

Hello from Raleigh NC!

Hey All glad to be part of the forum!

I've been flying drones since 2018 and got my Part 107 2021, I am probably "one of the many" starting, this year, to make this my full time job. I have been a tech guy/ techie (whatever its called now) for a long time :). I am very interested in opensource software, for drones, and have been using some recently. I look forward hearing everyone's opinions on them (opendronemap/ webodm is my first experience). My recent background is in Linux.

I bought an Air2s from Air Pug via Mavic Pilots, and think I made the right decision. He has been great providing info and answering questions!

Ive seen some great info provided in this Forum related to Litchi and many other topics, look forward being part of the "Mavic Pilots". (still not clear on what is and is not a considered a Mavic though).
A very warm welcome. hope u get the best out of the community.
