NFZ Red Zone Mis-categorized- Unable to inspect at a closed down Prison

My firm was hired to do a drone inspection using our Mavic Pro and Pro2 at a historic site of a prison that was shutdown almost 20 years ago. We attempted to do our inspection today and the drone would not take off since it is in a NFZ (red). It is my understanding there is now way to unlock the geofencing in red zones. I know the area is not an active prison and the state doesn't even control the land anymore so it appears it is inaccurately shown as NFZ.

Any suggestions from my fellow pilots? Rollback the firmware? Other softwares (Litichi?, nolimitdronez?)

I am hoping we can figure something out as the drone has major safety benefits to our inspections.

Did you try and unlock the area using the DJI Geofencing Unlock found here

If not you may want to try the unlocking method.

You can contact DJI in the flysafe department and get that corrected. During the period that the geo database gets updated, they can provide an unlock code.

Thanks BD0G. Since its a red zone the Flysafe website will not allow.

DanMan32 - You were right. DJI's support was very helpful by giving me a temporary unlock while they update their incorrect geofencing. Thanks again!

Thats great information to have. Knowing that it is possible to have DJI change and update thier Geofencing information is pretty nice.

What's the best way to notify DJI of an error? Is there a specific email address or contact link?
