i have two local volunteer fire departments that are blissfully unaware that I need to advise them before I fly due to their having helipads.

As far as notifications go, FAA has told me that I have to make a “reasonable attempt” to notify them.
Since they are not sure what I’m trying to accomplish and no one is usually there to answer a phone, is an email considered a reasonable attempt by the FAA?

That should do it, @ least they have a record that you're trying to reach them.
CC your self for record.

Yeah, I’ve tried to contact them to see if there's a number they'd prefer me to use so I don't tie up resources and I realize some numbers are their personal phones.
I even drove over to the one in New York to ask and nobody knew.

I figure email may be my only option as the Chiefs are being less than forthcoming with the contact info.

If any fire fighters want to weigh in on this, please do!
