Mavic mini drone

So I decided I was going to press the payload button to see what it would do and that was a big mistake. My drone upon take off, thank goodness I was inside, slammed against my ceiling and would not come down. I tried to quickly force the drone to land but that did not work. I had to jump up and grab the bottom of the drone and pull it back down to earth. I was trying to shut it off and it escaped and BAM! Once again slammed into my ceiling and then crashed to the floor.

Has anyone else had this issue? It seems that the payload button will not turn off and my drone keeps jumping to the ceiling now. Does anyone know how to reset it?

OK, so I have to ask...when you went to payload mode did you have the prop cages on?

That’s (amongst other things like other small external loads) is the intended use of payload mode; it does change the way the aircraft operates.

I can believe that in payload mode WITHOUT the cages on the behavior you observed could happen, as the aircraft thinks it is heavier than normal...

Yes it did have the guards on. It acted like it was ready to boost through the ceiling though. It has never taken off like that before, maybe a max of 4ft and then hovers.

Seems unlikely, the mini can detect if if going up or not and adjust.

@Dgunn69 if you post over in Mavic Crash & Flyaway Assistance with your logs someone might be able to look into why it happened.
