I was wondering if the Mavic & RC controller (and if possible, 2 batteries) would fit the Pelican 1170 or 1200? I know a lot of people are recommending the Pelican 1400, but that case is too big for my camera bag. I plan to get the "pick & pluck" foam padding.

1170

INTERIOR (L X W X D)
10.54" x 6.04" x 3.16" (26.8 x 15.3 x 8 cm)

EXTERIOR (L X W X D)
11.64" x 8.34" x 3.78" (29.6 x 21.2 x 9.6 cm)

1200

INTERIOR (L X W X D)

EXTERIOR (L X W X D)
10.62" x 9.68" x 4.87" (27 x 24.6 x 12.4 cm)

THANKS!

I use a 1300 with no issues, holds my bird, spare batt, controller, charger, extended landing gear, and all my SD cards. Granted there's not separate foam slots for each item but the tightness of everything keeps things safe.

Anyone who has/is using a Pelican case to store their Mavic, is there any foam at the bottom of the case after you cut everything out for the drone and remote, batteries, etc? I know there will be foam on the top when the lid closes, but wanting to make sure there is still some on the bottom and the Mavic or remote arn't just touching the bottom of the case.

I'm looking and particularly wondering about the Pelican 1400 and Pelican iM2100 Storm.

I have a pelican 1400 on my desk waiting for my drone to arrive. The case comes with 3 layers of foam. The top has an eggshell layer, the middle is 4-5 inches of pick and pluck foam, and the bottom has a 3/8" layer of foam.

From the pics I have seen, the 1400 will hold the fly more combo plus a little more. Once I get the drone I'll post a few pics in the case.

The box on the left is the Pelican 1400 and the one on the right is a 1200. I personally wouldn't go smaller than the 1400, it would be pretty tight.

Bought from eBay. Fits everything you'll need. And you can never use to much foam to protect your investment!

I use a 1510 to hold the Mavic, 4 batteries, charger etc. So far I have everything except the Mavic (Waiting for a replacement since mine arrived with issues). Will be plenty of space for everything, and it's carry-on size.

What type of issues?

What type of issues?

No picture in the app, camera sensor malfunction, gimbal malfunction, physical contact of the gimballed camera with the gimbal frame during startup, warnings to contact DJI support for repair information. Not going to deal with that when it's fresh out of the box, Amazon is cross shipping a brand new unit while I return the bad one.

**** that sucks.

Not really a big deal, Amazon has an awesome replacement policy. Waited 3 months for the unit so far, a week or two more isn't a big deal. I don't really need it until June or July for filming in Brazil anyway, so I'm not too worked up.

Yea. I lucked up. Ordered one from DJI direct. Waited over a month. Found one on line through electronic Express and had it here in three days. Sold the DJI purchase when it came in on Craigslist. Post pics from Brazil. Sounds awesome.
