I have a cool opportunity to do some video work that could involve taking off from an old soapstone quarry as part of the program. I will be ordering a phantomrain rescue jacket for my Msvic 2 Zoom. Would it be advisable to have the drone wearing a wetsuit as well? The water from which I will be taking off will be dead still. TIA for any advice/comments.

There is nothing inherently dangerous about flying over water. As long as you aren't relying on sensors to keep you from crashing you don't need any recovery device. Maintain VLOS, and you'll be fine,

As long as you keep the battery dry, the Rescue Jacket is all you'll need. I use mine often over water, just in case.

It's actually safer, since it is like flying over a wide open field with no obstructions.
